Company Vision

Startup Kai exists to help raise people out of poverty through disciple making and entrepreneurship. By identifying and training talented entrepreneurs, we hope to empower them to build high growth ventures to employ hundreds or thousands of people. We also come alongside SMEs to give them the inspiration, education, coaching and mentorship needed to be successful.

Program Overview

The Startup Kai journey has two tracks: one for exponential growth ventures (e.g. Scalable ventures) and one for linear growth ventures (e.g. SMEs). Each one has a three phase training program then followed by potential investment for exponential growth ventures or expansion loans for linear growth businesses. These programs both come with a mentor network and accountability groups to help each individual succeed.

In the future, we hope to expand to include various support services for small businesses including: marketing, legal, accounting, etc.

We are developing a discipleship focused curriculum for Christians who want to have a larger kingdom impact and transform the culture through business.

Qualifications

  • Follower of Christ, passionate relationship with God and desire to build His kingdom
  • Experience starting and growing a company, preferably a tech company
  • Experience teaching about business and leading discussions
  • A passion for teaching, coaching and mentoring
  • +3 years with professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering or Business
  • Solid understanding of Basic Finance and accounting
  • Able to provide constructive feedback in a positive way
  • Desire to help people discover their passions and unlock their potential
  • Willing to challenge people to go to the next level
  • Enjoys connecting with people and making introductions
  • Network Connection > 5 Mbps and Laptop

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Help cohorts achieve product-market fit and be ready for investment
  • Lead the in-class discussions and grade assignments
  • Ensure students clearly understand the class expectations and deliverables
  • Encourage students to watch the online lectures and answer questions about the lecture subject matter
  • Critique the team presentations and offer guidance on Customer Discovery strategy and tactics
  • Grade the student presentations and share private comments with the rest of the teaching team
  • Help find and recruit mentors to support the student teams
  • Manage the teaching assistant and work together to on board new students for each cohort
  • Meet with students regularly to help hold them accountable to make progress on their business
